How it works

Whenever multiple WHAALE apps are running in the same network, information about the speakers are shared among the apps. With that it is possible to show when speakers are used by another app/device - "remote speakers" are visualized with blue/purple status LED/volume slider.

It is possible to control the volume, to take over speakers that are used by the other app/device and to tell the other apps to use more speakers.

If you don't want others to control your speakers, you can configure this in the 'settings' dialog. You can even fully disable the sharing of the status information with others.

Controlling remote master volumes

When a remote app is connected to one or multiple speakers, you will see a button '...' behind the master volume control. If you press it (or the whole entry), a popup will open asking for which WHAALE the master volume shall be regulated.

If you select a remote WHAALE, you'll be able to control its master volume using the sliders, the hardware buttons (if the setting is enabled) and the stage gestures.

Controlling remote playbacks

If the volume slider controls are visible (see http://volume.whaale.com -> "Slider controls") and there are playbacks on other WHAALE apps in the same network, a switch "Speakers / Family playbacks" will be revealed at the top of the screen.

When you go to the "Family playbacks" tab, you will find a list of all playbacks in the network. It will show you the current status, the current song/track/station title and the information which WHAALE is playing it on which speakers.

When you tap an item, you can pause/resume the playback.

With the help of the 2 bottoms at the right you can skip prev/next.
