For this purpose, the "simulator mode" can be activated.

To enable/disable simulator mode, long press on the image in the main menu.

A popup will open asking what to do.

When you enter the flight screen, you will recognize simulator mode by the yellow background of the drone direction/home display.

While in simulator mode, you can use the sticks to control the drone without the motors actually starting.

You will see changes in the direction and speed displays.

To "take off" in simulator mode, pull the sticks down and together.
